Liberty Hill Programs: Overview

Liberty Hill believes the deepest, most lasting social change emerges from community organizing and social movements. For more than 30 years, we have invested in innovative work in Los Angeles, with many campaigns becoming national models.

Liberty Hill provides its grantee partners with three key resources critical to success.

Powered by Liberty Hill, grantee partners have achieved living wage laws and community benefits agreements, a statewide policy that allows undocumented immigrants to qualify for college in-state tuition and a civil rights consent decree that brought L.A. the nation's largest fleet of clean fuel buses.

Work currently funded by Liberty Hill includes (but is not limited to) campaigns to preserve existing affordable housing and encourage new construction, reduce toxic exposure in low-income communities of color and advance full equality for lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender Californians.
