ANNOUNCING THE FUND FOR CHANGE Liberty Hill is pleased to announce our new grantmaking program, the Fund for Change. Through the Fund for Change, Liberty Hill will support high-impact social change - cultivating effective community leaders, seeding emerging organizations, and developing a base of grassroots activists within the following Priority Areas: · Economic Justice Download the Guidelines and additional attachments. SCHOLARSHIP AND STIPEND PROGRAMS Liberty Hill offers several scholarship and stipend programs. Please see below for guidelines and applications. Bertha Wolf - Rosenthal Foundation Fund for Community Service Established by two private donors, the Bertha Wolf-Rosenthal Foundation Fund for Community Service Stipend awards several $5,000 stipends per year to young people, ages 18-25, to help cover basic living costs (e.g., rent, food, utilities, transportation and childcare) while they work at a nonprofit organization anywhere in California during the calendar year. Please click here for the guidelines and application. Must be received in Liberty Hill's office by Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Notifications will be made by Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Cal Dream Scholarship Established by an anonymous private donor, the Cal Dream Scholarship awards several scholarships of up to $10,000 per year to incoming or current undergraduate AB540 (non-resident tuition exemption) students attending UC Berkeley. Students must demonstrate leadership and a commitment to service or activism on campus or in the community. Please click here for the guidelines and application. Must be received in Liberty Hill's office by Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Notifications will be made by Friday, May 28, 2010. Erika J. Glazer Family Scholarship Fund Established by the Erika J. Glazer Trust of 1985, the Erika J. Glazer Family Scholarship Fund awards several multi-year scholarships of up to $7,000 per year to AB540 (non-resident tuition exemption) students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at California State University, Los Angeles or California State University, Dominguez Hills. Students must demonstrate leadership, merit, a commitment to community service and/or potential for academic achievement. Notifications will be made by Friday, May 7, 2010. Goetz Higher Education Scholarship Fund Established by Dr. Jack R. Goetz, Esq. and the Honorable Reva G. Goetz, the Goetz Higher Education Scholarship Fund awards several scholarships of up to $2,500 per year to students pursuing a full-time associate’s, bachelor’s or graduate degree at an institution of higher education in California. Please note that this scholarship program is closed to new applicants. Current recipients may contact Liberty Hill for more information. Established by the UCLA Center for Labor Research and Education, the UCLA Dream Fund awards several $500 scholarships per year to AB540 (non-resident tuition exemption) students pursuing their undergraduate or graduate education at UCLA.
