Bottom-Feeder Caught Tapping Senate Phones

by Anonymous (not verified) on January 28, 2010

No joke. James O'Keefe the chinchilla-clad "pimp" that set up ACORN last summer was arrested in an attempt to tap Louisiana Demoratic Senator Mary Landrieu's phone. It does make one wonder what lengths he was willing to go to to distort the footage recorded at the various ACORN offices that he set up.

Friday's update: O'Keefe defenders are disputing whether the effort was designed to tap Landrieu's phone. It's true the FBI affidavit does not charge them with wiretapping. Trespassing. Using false ID cards. Dressing as phone repair people. Exoneration? Not!

As noted in a post last week, California ACORN has broken away from the national organization and established a new organization ACCE to continue the important grassroots organizing on behalf of low-income families that ACORN is known for.

Liberty Hill's Wally Marks Leadership Institute for Change will be hosting Amy Schur at ACCE (formerly ACORN) and Angelica Salas of CHIRLA discussing right wing attacks on grassroots organizations at its March 31st lunch plenary. Contact Shane Goldsmith for more information.
