After years of organizing to put an end to toxic oil drilling in our local communities, Big Oil is now attacking the rights of cities and counties to ban or limit oil and gas pollution here in Los Angeles!
Recently, an LA District Court overturned LA’s plan to phase out oil drilling. But the fight is not over.
The California legislature has passed the Local Environmental Choice and Safety Act—or AB 3233—which affirms the rights of local governments to protect their residents from harmful oil and gas pollution.
All that’s left is for Governor Newsom to sign it into law. And we need your help to urge him to sign it by the September 30th deadline!
AB 3233 will protect frontline communities from deadly pollution and hold the oil industry accountable for its actions, but we need Governor Newsom to sign it as soon as possible.
We’re so close to winning the battle against toxic oil drilling in our neighborhoods!
Help us mobilize the full power of our community to protect our hard-won progress and help AB3233 cross the finish line by submitting a comment to Governor Newsom today!
