For more than 40 years, Liberty Hill has sustained L.A.'s most effective social justice organizations by supporting grassroots leaders through grantmaking, training and alliance building.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, community organizers have not stopped. Because there is more at stake than ever. Liberty Hill Foundation has been in constant contact with our community partners who have not missed a beat since we all began social distancing. Our partners jumped into action to advocate with local and state governments to get people off the street, out of jails, and into homes, because we all know we are safer at home. Organizers are advocating to reduce arrests, halt destructive housing “sweeps” and encampment displacement, stop immigration raids, and protect the rights of our vulnerable service workers. 

It is imperative in this time of crisis that these organizers ramp up their community organizing and advocacy to ensure that our local and state governments are stepping up to protect the rights and the health of the most vulnerable.
