Our Kids, Our Future

Hill

Since the inception of the SoCal Regional Action Committee (RAC) of California Funders for Boys and Men of Color (CFBMoC) and the creation of the Our Kids, Our Future Fund, Liberty Hill has worked to fuel grassroots, social justice organizations that are building progressive power and working to end youth incarceration as we know it in Los Angeles County. To date, the fund has awarded approximately $2.6 million in grants to 13 organizations, through a participatory grant-making process and plans to award additional grant dollars in the coming year. The Our Kids, Our Future Fund also provided organizational capacity building, leadership development and support, convening, and direct advocacy to support alliance-building work. In partnership with the Los Angeles County Center for Strategic Partnerships, we have also aligned approximately $3 million from funders and individual donors to support the strategic priorities addressed by the Blueprint.

Accelerating General Operating Grants during the COVID-19 crisis

We eliminated the written proposal process for both the Fund for Change and the Our Kids, Our Future Fund. These grants fuel community organizing, the solution to undo the broken systems that cause the very injustices we are currently experiencing.
