Mayor Karen Bass Announces Liberty Hill Board Co-Chair Jared Rivera As New Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement
“Community engagement is vital to the success of each initiative led by this office,” said Mayor Karen Bass. “If we want to solve homelessness and make Los Angeles safer and more livable for all, the people of this City must be involved. I look forward to seeing what’s to come.”
Jared joins the Bass administration after more than 20 years of experience as a community and labor organizer, coalition builder and political strategist. In 2016, he served as labor director of the Hillary Clinton for President campaign and in 2017 became political director of California’s largest local union, SEIU Local 2015. In addition to his work within the labor movement, Jared has proudly served on Liberty Hill’s Board of Directors since 2014.
In his new role, Jared will lead community engagement where he will develop strategic partnerships and ensure high-quality constituent service. He joined the Administration earlier this month.
