A new multi-year, multi-sector initiative called Bold Vision is launching in Los Angeles County to address racial and social inequities in our public systems and create a more equitable Los Angeles for youth of color.

In a collaborative effort led by BIPOC youth, community leaders, and organizations across the County, the Bold Vision initiative will utilize a systems-change framework to transform LA County into a place where BIPOC youth can thrive.

Working in partnership with community advocates, Liberty Hill will utilize the expertise and leadership of our movement-driven team to develop and manage the Bold Vision grants and capacity building program.

We will work with funders and community partners to direct resources to those working to build powerful, thriving communities across Los Angeles County—investing in leaders, organizations, and movements using diverse and leading-edge strategies to pursue transformational change.

Together, Bold Vision partners will ensure that local community groups and organizers have the resources they need to address racial inequity, uplift BIPOC youth, and push for policy and system change efforts that are in alignment with the urgent intervention areas of housing and tenant protections, youth mental health, and other basic needs.

To accomplish this Bold Vision will:

  • Strengthen youth voice and ensure that L.A.’s young people are well represented and have power in public decision-making across their full spectrum of identities and geographies.
  • Advance policy and systems change efforts that more efficiently and effectively move government towards supporting youth of color.
  • Establish an infrastructure that simultaneously leverages the extraordinary existing capacities within L.A. County, centers the voices of youth of color, and supports coordination across the range of issues and needs youth face

Liberty Hill believes that the people closest to injustice should be leading the way to solutions. Because we value the guidance of organizers and community members, Liberty Hill is committed to community-led initiatives, like Bold Vision, and will continue to invest in grantmaking opportunities that directly and rapidly respond to emerging needs from the frontlines.
