Game Changers: Youth Justice Fireside Chat w. Angel City FC
Sports have an incredible ability to unite people and inspire change! That’s the same vision Liberty Hill champions in our Youth Justice work—replacing punishment with quality youth development opportunities.
During the recent Fireside Chat, Senior Director of Youth & Transformative Justice, Lisa Small, sat down with Julie Uhrman, Co-Founder and President of the Angel City Football Club, along with Jimmy Kim, General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks, to explore how LA is paving the way and working together to enhance youth development.
The important discussion highlighted how philanthropy and its community partners are collectively advancing youth development and lifting up the people who make it possible—coaches, mentors, and other youth-serving professions.
Together, we’re ensuring that all young people have access to opportunities for growth and learning, especially those facing barriers to participation. We’re supporting youth development professionals who reflect the communities and young people they serve. And creating environments where youth can build skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging—through sports and beyond.
