Lia Williams
Program Coordinator

What brought me to Liberty Hill Foundation is the fundamental belief that everyone deserves access to resources that enable them to thrive, not just survive. I believe that those affected by systemic oppression hold the experience and wisdom to drive real solutions—and therefore must be centered in all key decision making. I believe that the root causes of all forms of oppression/suffering overlap, and conversely our pathways to liberation/healing are interconnected.
As a Program Coordinator on the Impact team, Lia provides administrative support for coalition priorities, grantmaking, training, and other functions across the Housing Justice and Youth Justice teams. She also supports billing, invoicing, and budget management with vendors and government partners.
Lia's professional background has been in nonprofit programming. Where she's supported a range of organizations working toward immigrant and refugee rights, food security, housing access, employment stability, youth arts and education. For her, it’s been an honor to build trusting relationships with these community leaders and service providers, to support and amplify their needs.
Areas of interest: social housing models, mutual aid, policy advocacy, Land Back movement actions
I have been living on Tongva and Chumash lands (Los Ángeles) for over 7 years. I was raised on the lands of the Odawa and Chippewa (northern Michigan), and I love to return to the lakes, family, and our dog.
