Yesenia Rodrigues

Program Manager

Hill
My commitment to social justice is rooted in lived experience and a deep connection to the communities I’ve worked with. I’ve witnessed how systemic inequities affect everyday lives, and I’m driven to support those whose voices are too often overlooked. I’m passionate about creating opportunities, building power in underserved communities, and helping drive meaningful, lasting change.

As the Department of Youth Development Program Manager, Yesenia will lead the implementation of the Youth Incubation Academy, supporting youth-serving organizations through capacity building and training. This role will equip organizations with the tools needed to strengthen their impact within their communities, while also overseeing grant administration and program delivery.

The goal of the Incubation Academy is to build a broader network of youth development organizations with the ability to meet the considerable needs of young people throughout the County, especially young people most impacted by carceral institutions.

Yesenia's career began in community organizing, working directly with residents to advocate for neighborhood safety and community change. She focused on equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to engage civically. She also partnered with local schools to create opportunities for youth to learn about civic participation and their power in shaping their communities.

Most recently, Yesenia served as a Program Manager at a nonprofit organization, leading various campaigns within the civic engagement department, including Get Out the Vote (GOTV), voter education, and naturalization assistance. In this role, Yesenia collaborated with community-based organizations to share best practices, offer strategic support, and help navigate programmatic challenges.

Outside of work, she enjoys visiting local museums and exploring national parks, finding inspiration and reflection in both art and nature.
