Los Angeles is facing an escalating housing crisis—and now, crucial tenant protections are at risk. The Los Angeles City Council is poised to vote on whether to extend the contracts that fund Stay Housed LA, the city’s most comprehensive tenant legal aid and education program. Without immediate action, these life-saving services could disappear.
Call on the LA City Council to:
Extend the Stay Housed LA contract for one year
Fully fund the program using Measure ULA dollars
Make public comment on Item 32 if you support protecting Stay Housed LA
Stay Housed LA connects renters to legal assistance, emergency rental aid, and Know-Your-Rights education—services that prevent homelessness and help families stay in their homes. Shutting it down now would gut LA’s only rental assistance program, eliminate hundreds of nonprofit jobs, and leave tenants defenseless amid rising evictions and fear.
These services are funded by Measure ULA, passed by voters to protect Angelenos from displacement. We must ensure the City of Los Angeles follows through on that promise.
The LA City Council is expected to vote on Friday, 6/27. Make your voice heard before the vote!
