Seeding the Future: The X Fund at Work
At this year’s X Fund Reception, Liberty Hill donor activists and grantees gathered to celebrate something powerful: a shared commitment to building a more just future for women, girls, and gender expansive individuals across Los Angeles.
More than a moment of recognition, the afternoon reflected the X Fund’s role as a catalyst—planting the “seeds for the future” by investing in bold, community-led solutions to gender inequity. Through its giving circle model, the X Fund continues to move resources where they matter most, into the hands of leaders driving change on the ground.
This year’s celebration honored the enduring impact of the Dolores Huerta Foundation, while uplifting an inspiring cohort of grantee partners advancing equity, safety, and opportunity: Birthworkers of Color Collective, Butterfly’s Haven, Black Women for Wellness Action Project, California Black Women’s Health Project, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Calibrate, Compton Girls Club, Garment Worker Center, IDEPSCA, Mujeres en Acción, The Sidewalk Project, and Trans Can Work.
Together, these organizations are not just responding to today’s challenges, but they are also shaping a future rooted in dignity, access, and justice for all.
The X Fund’s work spans critical priorities, from advancing policy change to supporting direct services that resource women, combat violence, and expand opportunity. Each grant is an intentional investment in long-term, systemic impact.
For donors, the X Fund offers a meaningful opportunity to be part of something bigger, a collective effort to nurture the ideas, leadership, and movements that will define the next generation of gender justice.
