As the work to support tenants rights in Los Angeles continues, Stay Housed LA grantee partners are hard at work laying the framework to help vulnerable renters understand their rights and access resources available to help them stay housed.

Earlier this month, Liberty Hill along with Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE), Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) and Eastside LEADS hosted a three-day Stay Housed LA training. The gathering provided a safe and collaborative space for Stay Housed LA partners to come together and build community, share learnings, and strategize on their work to keep LA tenants informed.

The collaborative also welcomed three new member organizations—Korean Immigrant Workers Alliance, Paving the Way, and Armenian Relief Society—which now makes a total of 16 community-based organizations working on Housing Justice across LA County and the City of LA!

To date, Stay Housed LA partners have reached more than 1.4 million tenants through its public information campaign via phone banking, texting, and door knocking. Despite these efforts, thousands of residents still face eviction but Stay Housed LA will continue to ensure residents are aware of their rights and know where to find support.
