Grassroots Groups We Support

  • LA Voice works to increase the quality of life for immigrants and formerly incarcerated people by fighting for rehabilitation and reentry programs.  The organization also supports low income people impacted by transit expansion.

  • Labor/Community Strategy Center is working to end the criminalization and mass incarceration of Black and Latino communities by addressing the conditions inside LAUSD that put students on the path to prison.

  • Long Beach Residents Empowered (LiBRE) is a grassroots community organizing group advancing justice in disadvantaged communities through creation and preservation of affordable housing, renter protections and community economic development.

  • Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE) is working to achieve effective enforcement of new wage laws, win a zero waste policy in Long Beach and build community support for truck drivers who are organizing at the ports of L.A. and Long Beach.

  • The Los Angeles Black Worker Center uses action and unionization to increase access to quality jobs, reduce employment discrimination, and improve industries that employ Black workers.
