Now's the Time to Think of Energy
We need to understand that when we use electricity matters – not just how much electricity we use. By moving some of our energy use to certain times of day, we can better align our usage to when cleaner energy is more abundant and help protect our state.
Did you know when we use electricity can be as important as how much electricity we use?
When demand goes up, energy availability goes down. It’s on us to use less energy from 4 to 9 p.m. to optimize our energy use during peak times.

TOU plans provide an opportunity to help manage costs; giving you more control to save energy, reduce your expenses, and even help the environment.
Here are a few things you can do to get started
Turn off lights you aren't using
Indoor and outdoor lighting consume a lot of electricity. Switch things off when not needed, especially during peak hours.
Do more during the day
Do household chores, like laundry, cooking, and washing dishes, before 4 p.m. when electricity is cheaper and energy is more abundant.
Adjust your thermostat
Adjust your thermostat a few degrees during peak times in the summer to 78 or higher to save money and reduce emissions.
Unplug and Get out after 4 p.m.
Get connected with nature and/or exercise. We all need to take action and use energy more wisely to help fight climate change.
