At Liberty Hill, we believe the people most affected by injustice should be leading the fight for change—from the community meeting to the protest march to the ballot box.
Uniting Grassroots Hustle & Electoral Muscle Across L.A.
Creating policies to deal with critical issues that disproportionately affect low-income people of color such as the effects of COVID-19, police brutality, and access to health care, education, job opportunity and safety net programs, will increasingly hinge on the voter participation and turnout of the people most affected by these injustices.
True change will not be possible unless we ensure their voices are heard and their votes are counted.
Our Liberty Vote! program supports organizations that engage in electoral organizing, advocacy, and other civic engagement strategies in L.A. County.
Developed after extensive interviews with experts in grassroots voter registration and mobilization programs.
The program offers Electoral Engagement Grants in Honor of longtime Liberty Hill Donor Activist and Champion Gary Stewart.
About Liberty Vote!
Liberty Vote! was originally developed in 2004-2008 as a result of extensive interviews throughout Los Angeles with experts in grassroots voter registration and mobilization programs.
Liberty Vote! Has Three Goals

in communities most impacted by systemic oppression to win progressive public policy
Build the organizational capacity
of grassroots nonprofits to incorporate voter empowerment activities into their programs
Increase voter turnout
in areas with the lowest voter participation
