This year’s brunch was more than a moment of reflection—it was a call to action. Together, we honored five decades of solidarity and progress while looking ahead to the work still needed to build a more just Los Angeles.

We are deeply grateful to our guest speakers—the remarkable Dr. Manuel Pastor, director of the Equity Research Institute at USC, and Christina Livingston, Executive Director of the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE)—for their thoughtful discussion with Liberty Hill President & CEO Shane Murphy Goldsmith. Their conversation illuminated the powerful roles that frontline organizers and donor activists play in advancing equity, and the collective strength required to expand our shared progress.

As we embark on this milestone year, our theme— “50 Years of Solidarity and Progress” — reminds us to honor the victories that brought us here while continuing to drive toward a more equitable future for Los Angeles.
