Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month—a nationwide celebration of the AANHPI community and all the amazing contributions it has made to our nation’s history.
At Liberty Hill, we truly appreciate the incredible role that the diverse AANHPI community plays in our movement for change. We recognize the many ways AANHPI organizers and activists have brought together broad coalitions to achieve progressive victories.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Since 1983, the social justice organization Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California has been dedicated to protecting and uplifting the rights and dignity of AAPI communities in the region. Considered the largest civil rights organization for AAPI individuals in the nation, they are committed to promoting access and equity through their rigorous voter engagement and community initiatives.
Filipino Migrant Center
The Filipino Migrant Center is a Filipino immigrant-led organization that aims to educate, organize, and mobilize low-income, working-class Filipino families across the South Bay. Through their programs and services, the center supports the leadership and empowerment of immigrant community members as they mobilize to advocate for their health, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods and environment.
Moonbow
Moonbow, formerly API Equality-LA, has been working at the forefront of LGBTQ+ Justice since 2005. Today, they create space for safety and trust so that queer and trans Asians can explore and prioritize their mental health and well-being. As a valued community partner in Los Angeles, Moonbow’s initiatives are designed to foster connection, restoration and joy for queer and trans Asians throughout the region.
Little Tokyo Service Center
As a dedicated partner in Liberty Hill’s Economic & Housing Justice work, the Little Tokyo Service Center provides social welfare and community development services to assist low-income individuals and people in need. The center is a staple in Little Tokyo and among the broader Japanese community in Los Angeles, providing valuable resources to API and other low-income community members.
API Rise

We are proud to support and stand in solidarity with the many frontline AANHPI advocates and organizers who are tirelessly working to make progress in the fight for racial justice, housing justice, environmental justice, youth justice, LGBTQ+ justice and gender justice.
