Liberty Hill Sponsors PBS SoCal | KCET Screening of “UNIDAD”
In honor of National Latinx/e Heritage Month, Liberty Hill co-sponsored the PBS SoCal | KCET screening of UNIDAD: Gay & Lesbian Latinos Unidos at LA Plaza de Cultura y Arte in Downtown L.A.
The documentary tells the captivating story of L.A.’s first queer Latinx/e organization and the pivotal role it played in the fight for women’s rights, civil rights, and LGBTQ equality.
The free community event was a fun-filled evening featuring a mini Queer Mercado pop-up, live performance from LGBTQ mariachi band Mariachi Arcoiris, and a special panel discussion with the filmmakers and activists who work to uplift, support, and advocate for the queer Latinx/e community.
