United in Justice: Filipino Migrant Center Honors Liberty Hill
We’re thrilled to share that our long-standing community partners at the Filipino Migrant Center celebrated a fantastic milestone year at their 15th Anniversary Gala this month—honoring Liberty Hill with the Justice Award in recognition of our steadfast commitment to social justice!
The community celebration was a joyful reflection on the incredible fifteen years that the Filipino Migrant Center has devoted to building immigrant power in the region. With the theme, “Rooted in Justice, Rising for Change,” they celebrated progressive champions—including Liberty Hill Foundation and dedicated advocates Joseph Navalez (Advancing Justice SoCal) and Nerissa Gonzalez—for their invaluable support of the organization’s mission.
As one of the Filipino Migrant Center’s longest-standing partners and funders, Liberty Hill has been proud to play an important role in helping FMC fulfill its goals. We are honored to be recognized for our partnership and ongoing support of social change in Los Angeles, as well as for uplifting other organizations and philanthropy in the movement building landscape in LA County, especially during these times.
Over the past years, the organizing and advocacy efforts by the Filipino Migrant Center have made a real difference in defending migrants, ending wage theft, stopping anti-Asian hate, and protecting immigrant and workers’ rights.
We are truly grateful to receive this recognition from our friends at the Filipino Migrant Center, and we remain committed to supporting those who continue to advance social justice movements throughout the region.
