In this time of political instability, deep federal funding cuts, and rising attacks on marginalized communities, frontline organizations across Los Angeles are not backing down. They are organizing, mobilizing, and winning. And Liberty Hill is standing with them—just as we have for nearly five decades.

At Liberty Hill, we believe that the strongest force against fear, division, and injustice is community power. That’s why our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan centers on investing in power-building strategies led by communities most impacted by systemic oppression. We provide unrestricted grants, strategic convenings, training, and technical assistance—giving movement leaders the infrastructure they need not just to survive but to thrive.

Together, we are achieving tangible results:

  • New tenant protections preventing displacement and homelessness.
  • County- and city-wide phase-outs of oil drilling in frontline communities.
  • The establishment of the largest youth development system in the country—offering community-based alternatives to incarceration.

These outcomes didn’t happen by chance. They are the result of decades of organizing and deep community-rooted work. And they are only possible when infrastructure meets movement.

But the stakes continue to rise. Attacks on civil rights, democracy, and community-led progress threaten everything we’ve worked for. In this moment, the philanthropic sector has a critical role to play. Now is the time to lean in—not pull back.

We invite philanthropic leaders to stand tall with us in Los Angeles County, where community-led solutions are already transforming systems. In this moment of chaos and fragmentation, Liberty Hill provides the structure, relationships, and strategic vision to make real change possible.

We call on our philanthropic partners to fight back—and fight on—with us. Invest in this moment. Invest in this infrastructure. Let’s protect what we’ve won and push forward together—toward a just, equitable Los Angeles for all.
