In his role, Diego sustains, grows, and manages a portfolio of high net-worth donor advised fund (DAF) holders and giving circles, which contribute over $9 million in annual grants to nonprofits across Los Angeles and beyond in support of social justice. Previously, he served as a Donor Relations Officer with the California Community Foundation, where he managed a portfolio of 200+ individual, family, corporate, and scholarships funds totaling $130 million in assets.

Diego holds over ten years in fund development and communications with a focus on individual, foundation, and corporate giving through strategic moves management and trust-based, high-impact philanthropic frameworks. He has led in the nonprofit sector, philanthropy, and congressional and presidential campaigns, such as serving in a Senior Director role on Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presential campaign in 2020. Diego has held Commissioner appointments for the City of Huntington Park and City of South Gate.

Diego is an alumnus of Coca Cola’s NextGen LGBTQ Leaders Initiative, Equality California’s Leadership Academy, LGBTQ Victory Institute’s Victory Empowerment Fellowship, and People for the American Way / Young Elected Officials Network’s Front Line Leaders Academy.

Diego serves as a Board of Director for the Foundation for Los Angeles Community Colleges and as Board Treasurer for The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach. 

Diego is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership at University of Southern California (USC Ed.D). He holds an M.B.A from the School of Enterprise Management and Social Impact (SEMSI) at American Jewish University and earned his B.A. from UCLA.
