Liberty Hill Foundation is proud to be a partner with Bold Vision, a multi-sector, multi-year initiative that aims to transform systems within L.A. County. In collaboration with youth community leaders, organizations and funders across L.A. County, Bold Vision seeks to invest in BIPOC youth so that they can meet their fullest potential.

Bold Vision is designed to uplift youth voices, address racial inequity, and push for policy and system change efforts that ensure youth of color have both opportunities and the support needed to thrive. Despite living in one of the country’s most progressive communities, many Black, Native American & Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, and Pacific Islander youth experience disparities and barriers to opportunity. Los Angeles is ready to reimagine the way we empower youth of color and their families through Bold Vision.

Bold Vision is excited to direct resources to those working to build powerful, thriving communities across Los Angeles County, and invest in leaders, organizations, and movements using diverse and leading-edge strategies to pursue transformational change.

We are excited to announce the 2023 Bold Vision Grantee Partners!

Bold Vision will leverage LA’s formidable movement infrastructure to address urgent intervention areas of housing and tenant protections, youth mental health, and other basic needs, utilizing a systems-change framework to transform LA County for the better.

To accomplish this Bold Vision will:

  • Strengthen youth voice and ensure that L.A.’s young people are well represented and have power in public decision-making across their full spectrum of identities and geographies.
  • Advance policy and systems change efforts that more efficiently and effectively move government towards supporting youth of color.
  • Establish an infrastructure that simultaneously leverages the extraordinary existing capacities within L.A. County, centers the voices of youth of color, and supports coordination across the range of issues and needs youth face.

“Liberty Hill is proud to be a partner to Bold Vision because it is flipping the balance of power in Los Angeles,” said Julio Marcial, Senior Vice President of Programs at Liberty Hill. “BIPOC youth need to be at the center of discussions about our future—this is the only way that we can transform systems of harm into systems of care so that youth can thrive.”

Liberty Hill believes that the people closest to injustice should be leading the way to solutions. Because we value the guidance of organizers and community members, Liberty Hill is committed to community-led initiatives, like Bold Vision, and will continue to invest in grantmaking opportunities that directly and rapidly respond to emerging needs from the frontlines.
