Environmental Justice Landscape Update with E+J Donor Circle

The Environment + Justice Donor Circle at Liberty Hill gives its members the opportunity to learn and build knowledge about the intersection of the environment and social and economic justice.

Last month, they hosted their first educational conversation of the cycle titled, “Environmental Justice Landscape Update for SoCal and Beyond.” Donor circle members were treated to an engaging conversation with Liberty Hill Senior Director of Environmental & Climate Justice Angelo Logan and E+J Donor Circle member Sean Hecht, the managing attorney of Earthjustice’s California Regional Office.

Together they shared insights and explored the region’s current Environmental Justice landscape and how philanthropic partners like Liberty Hill can support communities leading the charge for Environmental Justice in LA and beyond. Members left with a better understanding of how the Environmental Justice movement in the Los Angeles region is reacting and organizing in the face of current challenges.

In times like these, when resources are stretched thin and fatigue can set in, together we can find ways to sustain grassroots movements in the long term. Sustenance comes from strategic partnerships, community building and staying steadfast on the course, along with the people who share our vision for a just and healthy planet for all.
