Liberty Hill & PDG Consulting Partnership: Where Philanthropy & Innovation Meet

Los Angeles has one of the highest youth incarceration rates in the country, disproportionately impacting black, brown, and indigenous people and their communities. Through a collaborative partnership, our Youth & Transformative Justice team worked with PDG Consulting to create an in-depth data visualization tool that could be used to find, collect, and curate LA police arrest data to tell data-driven stories about these marginalized communities.

To meet our goals of reducing youth incarceration in Los Angeles County, the data visualization tool makes it possible for Liberty Hill to deliver data-driven stories that don’t simply call for social change, but support the need for immediate action with specific arrest patterns and clear demographic and geographic trends.

“By combining Liberty Hill’s passion for activism with PDG’s data visualization dashboard, this tool is now part of a movement that is investing in organizing and advocacy to help realign up to $150 million for youth development and close 15 youth prisons in LA,” says PDG.
