Earlier this month, Liberty Hill hosted Ready to Rise (R2R) grantees, partners, and community leaders for the Ready to Rise Spring Convening, a dynamic gathering centered on connection, collaboration, and collective power.

The all-day event brought together leaders from across Los Angeles County, creating space to strengthen relationships within the R2R network and advance a community-driven youth justice ecosystem rooted in shared learning and mutual support.

Through interactive workshops and Peer to Peer Connections sessions, participants reflected on their collective impact and exchanged strategies to better serve young people across the region.

Now in its fifth year, Ready to Rise continues to provide critical funding and capacity-building support to community-based organizations working with youth impacted by the justice system. Through programs focused on education, mentorship, leadership development, and the arts, R2R grantees are helping young people strengthen their wellbeing, build power, and thrive.

Ready to Rise is a bold, $50 million public-private partnership led by Liberty Hill Foundation in collaboration with the California Community Foundation and the County of Los Angeles. Together, this work has already supported 100 organizations and reached more than 42,000 youth across LA County.

As a core part of Liberty Hill’s youth justice strategy, Ready to Rise is helping lead a transformative shift, moving away from punitive systems and toward a care-first approach that invests in young people’s futures.

By strengthening community-based organizations and expanding opportunities, Liberty Hill is reimagining what justice looks like in Los Angeles. Alongside our partners, we are building a future where every young person has the support they need to thrive.
