FUND FOR CHANGE 2026

Meet the 2026 Fund for Change Cohort

Seventeen community-rooted organizations building power and building the good across Los Angeles County.

Meet the Cohort
Hill

For 50 years, Liberty Hill has invested in the people and organizations building grassroots power across Los Angeles. Today, we carry that commitment forward by welcoming the 2026 Fund for Change cohort: 17 organizations confronting injustice, strengthening their communities, and expanding what is possible across LA County.

The Next Generation of Grassroots Power

Many members of this year's cohort are emerging or smaller organizations that bring trusted relationships, lived experience, cultural insight, and solutions shaped by the people they serve. Their leadership is essential to a broad, resilient movement ecosystem that can respond to today's challenges and build what comes next.

Meet the 2026 Cohort

Hill

A Countywide and Interconnected Movement

Several cohort members advance issues at the heart of Liberty Hill's Agenda for a Just Future: youth and transformative justice, housing justice, and environmental and climate justice. Taken together, the cohort reflects the broader reach of Liberty Hill's work across Youth & Transformative Justice; LGBTQ & Gender Justice; Environmental & Climate Justice; Economic & Housing Justice; Electoral Power Building; and Healing Justice. From the Antelope Valley to Long Beach and from unincorporated South Los Angeles to the San Fernando Valley, this cohort reflects the breadth, diversity, and local leadership of Los Angeles' movement for justice.

Community Wisdom Guides the Funding

The cohort was selected through a participatory process shaped by Liberty Hill’s Community Funding Board. Grassroots leaders, community members, donors, and funding partners bring distinct lived experiences, community knowledge, and philanthropic perspectives to help shape where resources go. The Board reflects a core Liberty Hill belief: people closest to the work and the communities affected should help shape funding decisions. This approach also gives donors and funders an opportunity to learn alongside movement leaders and participate in more transparent, community-informed philanthropy.

Building the Good Now

As Liberty Hill marks 50 years and looks toward Los Angeles in 2076, we are asking what it will take to build a more just region for generations to come. Seeds of the Future gives that question a name. Fund for Change puts it into practice by investing in organizations building the good now.

The future is not waiting to be imagined.

It is already being built by the people and organizations in this cohort. By investing in their work and leadership today, we are helping plant the seeds of a Los Angeles where every community has the power to shape its own future.

More stories from the cohort are coming

In the months ahead, meet the people, ideas, and communities shaping what comes next.
